The world of Jewish learning has traditionally been dominated by the elite male practice of text study. Gashmius understands itself it be in the lineage of those who are attempting to expand our conceptions of "Jewish knowledge" to include non-textual sources. Taking our cue from Jericho Vincent's piece, we think of our featured art not as mere adornment to written content, but as genuine neo-Hasidic content in and of itself.

Ruth Feuerstein

Ruth Feuerstein (b. 1994) is an artist and poet, based in Jerusalem. She holds a bachelor's degree in Literature and in the Multidisciplinary Humanities Program from Tel Aviv University, graduating with highest honors. Her debut book "The Book of Oblivion and Redemption" was published in 2024. Her second book, "City of No-Exile" is due to be published during 2025. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries in Israel, presenting her visual art alongside her poetry and audio work. Nowadays, As part of her master's degree in literature, she is writing a thesis on the Kabbalistic work "Tikkunei HaZohar".

Noa Mishkin

Noa Mishkin is a graduate of the Visual communications department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She works as an illustrator, comic artist and designer in Jerusalem. Her first graphic novel "As a Burning Flame: the Dream of Regina Jonas" is available from Ayin press.

Elyssa Wortzman

Dr. Elyssa Wortzman (D. Min, L.L.B) is a spiritual director, educator and artist currently serving as Director of Religious School at Beth Abhraham Synaoguge Dayton. She is the recipient of the Rabbi Samuel Sandmel Award for her innovative doctoral thesis on mindful, art-based spiritual education for children and youth from the Graduate Theological Foundation (2016). She was among the first participants in the artist residency program Art Kibbutz (NY), was selected to participate in the Sacred Arts Institute (Academy of Jewish Religion, NY), and more recently completed a residency at KolHaOt in Jerusalem. Exhibitions include: The Contemporary Dayton, The Derfner Museum and Jewish Artist Salon.
